We chose the Whitsundays because it was a midpoint for all our family and friends who were coming from New Zealand, Queensland, Western Australia and America. We had visited the Whitsundays a year earlier and fell in love with it, especially after doing a day cruise and visiting Whitehaven Beach. We stayed in the Whitsundays for 2 and a half weeks. We took my Mum on the Heart Reef Helicopter Tour, with a stopover at Whitehaven Beach on the way back…it was spectacular. We then returned to the Whitsundays in April for Jo’s birthday and stayed at the Coral Sea Resort… and they spoilt us! We were also taken out for a day trip aboard the MV Mantaray and visited the Whitehaven Beach lookout and snorkelled opposite Hayman Island. It was absolutely awesome.
